The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation was organized in January 2001 to act as a community foundation for the greater Litchfield community. Selma J. Hartke was a lifetime resident of Litchfield, Illinois, and devoted her life to helping other people. The Foundation seeks to carry out her wishes through the establishment of the Selma J. Hartke Scholarships.
During the last 18 years the Foundation has awarded 1,487 scholarships to deserving students in Macoupin and Montgomery Counties.
Every year multiple students from Lincolnwood receive this scholarship and the amount awarded can be substantial. So, please take the time to apply.
Attached is an application packet which includes instructions, a statement describing the history of the Foundation and our guidelines for awarding a scholarship, and an application.
The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation asks that applications and supporting material be returned to us at the address below and be postmarked no later than February 28, 2021.
