Mr. Kirkpatrick

The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation was organized in January 2001 to act as a community foundation for the greater Litchfield community. Selma J. Hartke was a lifetime resident of Litchfield, Illinois, and devoted her life to helping other people. The Foundation seeks to carry out her wishes through the establishment of the Selma J. Hartke Scholarships.

During the last 18 years the Foundation has awarded 1,487 scholarships to deserving students in Macoupin and Montgomery Counties.

Every year multiple students from Lincolnwood receive this scholarship and the amount awarded can be substantial. So, please take the time to apply.

Attached is an application packet which includes instructions, a statement describing the history of the Foundation and our guidelines for awarding a scholarship, and an application.

The Selma J. Hartke Community Foundation asks that applications and supporting material be returned to us at the address below and be postmarked no later than February 28, 2021.

If your field of study is going to be in an agricultural-related field and your parent/guardian has been a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau for at least 1 year before the date of March 3, 2021, please see the attached scholarship application. Three $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors.

I'm attaching LaVern and Nola McEntire Lineworker's Scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship will help pay for costs to attend the lineworker's school conducted by the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperative in conjunction with LLCC. Please see the attached document for additional details and how to apply.

LLCC Foundation Scholarships

The 2021 CBAI Foundation for Community Banking scholarship application is now available. Attached is information regarding the scholarship program. Recipients are determined by an essay-writing contest and panel of judges.

The prize awarded for the overall winner is $1,000 per year for up to 4 years, with up to 11 additional awards of $1,000 and up to 12 second-place awards of $500.

Essays are due at the CBAI Foundation office by 5p.m. on Wednesday, March 3th, 2021. Bank deadlines will be earlier so students need to heed the sponsoring bank's instructions. I recommend completing it as soon as possible.
